WHO WE ARE
Sashank Welfare Trust is a not-for-profit organization working in India for over 50 years, focusing on alleviating poverty and social injustice. We do this through well planned
and comprehensive projects in health, education, livelihoods, and disaster preparedness and response. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalized communities leading to
improvement in their lives and livelihoods.
Sashank Welfare Trust has been working in India for 50 years, focusing on alleviating poverty and social exclusion. We do this through well-planned and comprehensive programs in health, education, livelihoods,
and disaster preparedness and response. Sashank Welfare Trust is collaborating with development partners in fighting the COVID-19 health crisis. We are helping frontline workers stay safe with PPE,
distributing dry rations to feed the needy, raising awareness in our program areas so that all people live with dignity and security.
WOMEN AND GIRLS !
Sashank Welfare Trust focuses on the empowerment of women and girls because they are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination; and suffer abuse and violations in the realization of their rights,
entitlements, and access and control over resources. Also, experience shows that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty, marginalization,
and social injustice.
PROGRAMME GOAL
We set up Sashank Welfare Trust to work with grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families, and communities. Sashank Welfare Trust aims to accomplish this goal by working with 10 million people to help them meet their health, education, and livelihood entitlements and aspirations.

Sashank Welfare Trust has made a considerable shift in its programming approach over the years. From direct service provision to enabling poor and vulnerable groups, Sashank Welfare Trust has evolved into a rights-based organization in order to address underlying causes of poverty. Our focus is explicitly on the well-being, social position, and rights of women and girls from marginalized communities.
Sashank Welfare Trust focuses on strategically emphasizing on promoting quality healthcare, inclusive education, gender-equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities, and disaster relief and preparedness.
Our efforts are focused to fight against underlying causes of poverty, building secure and resilient communities, and ensuring a life of dignity for all women and girls from the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, especially among Dalits and Adivasis.
